My research focuses on the sourcing of siliceous rocks and their mechanical properties, as a way to better understand the selection that was made amongst them by Paleolithic human groups. For that purpose, I use a wide range of approaches in geology and chemistry, as well as in experimental archaeology. My PhD focuses on the characterization of quartz from the Chassezac Valley (Ardèche, Lozère and Gard, France), and particularly on the site of the Abri des Pêcheurs (Middle Paleolithic).
